The idea behind CatastropheCast.com comes from the deep, dark recesses of webmaster Walter’s (my) mind. From the time I was about seven or eight years old, I didn’t want to be an astronaut or fireman like normal kids. Nope. I wanted to be an NTSB airline crash investigator.
Yeah, I was a weird child.
All my life I have been fascinated by the disasters that plague man. Mostly man-made disasters like airline crashes, nuclear reactor meltdowns, etc. But I do hold Mother Nature in awe, because she can do more damage and snuff out more life than man-made ever could. And while I’m probably going to focus mostly on man-made disasters, leaning more for airline crashes, I will touch on other topics from time to time.
I’ve done podficcing (reading stories and editing them for people to listen to), but I’m new to podcasting. If you have any suggestions for me, or even requests for a specific catastrophe, drop me a line at podcast@CatastropheCast.com. I hope to do one or two podcasts per month, subject to my work schedule, vacation, etc.
The awesome custom artwork was done by my friend Cindy at Newtonian Flow Studios, and the music from the podcast is called “Delta” by Moonove, found at FreeMusicArchive.org
